Every year, the Liquor, Cannabis & Psychedelics (LCP) Law Section holds elections for open seats on its executive committee. On this page you will find information about the election process, how to run for an executive committee position, and other helpful info.

Applications have closed.

The following section executive committee positions are open for applications. All terms begin Oct. 1, 2024, unless otherwise noted.

  • Chair: two-year position beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2026.
  • Secretary: two-year position beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2026.
  • Treasurer: two-year position beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2026.
  • At-Large Member: (six positions open) two-year position beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be a current section member and eligible to vote in accordance with the section's bylaws.

Application Process: Go to the myWSBA.org Portal to complete the online application for open executive committee positions. The Section has requested that each applicant submit a statement of interest. This document must be uploaded with your online application (pdf format only). Please be advised that application materials may be posted on this website for public viewing during the election.

Note: If you are applying for more than one position on this or multiple sections' committees, you must complete and submit all applications at the same time, as you will not be allowed back into the portal at a later time. Please make sure you are completing the applications within the application window for all of the relevant sections.

Nominating Process: Nominations and elections for open Executive Committee positions will be held between March and May. The Chair shall appoint a Nominating Committee to nominate one or more persons for each open Executive Committee position. The Nominating Committee shall report its nominees to the Executive Committee for approval prior to the annual meeting.

Alternate Nominating Process: Other nominations for the same positions may be made from the floor at the annual meeting. Individuals may nominate themselves.

Elections Process: All voting members of the section will receive an electronic ballot sent to their email on June 3, 2024. Return to this webpage in early June for election updates and voting instructions.

If you haven't already, make sure to adjust your firewalls or spam filters to allow SurveyMonkey to send you the ballot.

The LCP Law Section's bylaws currently list the following required executive committee positions. Open positions are listed above in the Elections Information section.

  • Six (6) At-Large Members
