Suits was a breakout hit when the series dropped its first season back in 2011, and the legal drama recently got a new fanbase after releasing nine seasons-worth of episodes on Netflix and Peacock. And now, there’s even more good news for Suits fans. The rumors are true: There's a new series in the works.

While spinoffs like Pearson have gotten a lot of attention after the renewed (and rabid) interest in Suits, rest assured that this is not some revival or a reboot I'm talking about. So, don’t expect to see Meghan Markle in a starring role. That said, there will certainly be some similarities to the original series, but likely, a lot will have changed.

Here’s everything to know about the new Suits series as of this second.

Suits was so popular on Netflix that they’re creating another series to follow in its footsteps.

Suits dropped on Netflix in June and people totally freaked. The series broke several streaming records, with 12.8 *billion* minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock in a four-week span, according to Time.

Deadline reported in October 2023 that Suits creator Aaron Korsh is in development of a Suits “offshoot” for NBCUniversal. While deals are still being negotiated, the show is expected to be “fast-tracked,” per the publication.

Who will be in the cast?

Great question! That’s really TBD at the moment, but Deadline says it will feature an entirely new cast of characters. So, it'll still be Suits but...also not Suits.

It’s not clear right now if some of the big names from the original series—like Meghan Markle, Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, and Gina Torres—would make an appearance. Only time will tell!

You can check back in for updates once a cast list is announced. And of course, it's never too early to start creating your own dream casting list.

What will the new series be about?

It sounds like details are still being hashed out right now, so there's no clear answer here.

That said, based on what Deadline has reported, the new series will exist in the "same universe" as the original Suits, and it will focus on a new firm at a different location. Basically, you can expect a lot more of the same legal drama, just with different people to root for. And I would have to imagine viewers will hear about Pearson Hardman through the dialogue...

What have the show’s creators said about a new series?

They have actually stayed quite mum, but Aaron Korsch did post about the streaming record on X (formerly known as Twitter), though.

“I always thought we were underestimated, but it turns out, even I underestimated #Suits. It’s good to be the King,” he wrote.
