Archive And Top 50 Goals
As Wisconsin Track Online retires from presenting meet features after twenty-nine years of compiling highlights of girls high school track and field meets a few memories above accent all the incredible performances by Wisconsin athletes that have made valuable contributions to the history of track and field in Wisconsin. Some of the Top 50 All-Time athletes who are currently ranked #1 in their specialties are shown above L-R: Brooke Jaworski [Wausau West, 300m LH], Dezerea Bryant [Milwaukee Bradley Technical, 100m, 200m, 4x100m, 4x200m], Roisin Willis [Stevens Point Area Senior High School, 400m, 800m, 1600m], Molly Seidel [University Lake School, 3200m], Bonnie Draxler [Wrightstown, PV], Kiara Lee [Madison La Follette, TJ], and Josephine Schaefer [Baraboo, Discus]. The daily Honor Roll updates, the Senior Plans, Odd Relay Performances, and Looking Back sections will now be archives and will no longer be updated. However with the help of Paul Tilleman the Top 50 Athletes of All-Time lists created by Mark Rongstad [2001-2007] and continued by Mike Krugel [2009-2016] and Paul Tilleman [2016-...] will be updated. Hopefully coaches will submit performances that should be included on the All-Time lists. To see if your performance makes the Top 50 All-Time lists please go to the 2023 Additions feature.




August 3, 2022 U20 World Meet At Cali, Columbia
Willis Posts 1:59.13 to Win U20 800m
Stevens Point senior Roisin Willis improved her old Top 50 Best 800m time of 2:00.03 with a 1:59.13 to win the U20 World Championship 800m race. She passed European Champion Audrey Werro [Swiz.] in the last 100m to set a U20 record. Go to 2022 updates.

Tosa East's Stangel Improves Top 50 PV
Hope Stangel from Wauwatosa East [Class of 2023] vaulted 3.70 meters (12' 01.67) at the USATF Region 8 Jr. Olympics meet held at Lakeville, MN on July 10. Go to 2022 updates.

Aitken Moves To #9 All-Time In Vault

Sandvig & Sheplee Repeat Champions
Chippewa Fall's junior Brooklyn Sandvig swept the D1 dash events with [11.84, 24.10, 54.83 times in the prelims or finals] while D2 Eliana Sheplee from Rice Lake won the 200 and 400 events. Luciana Aizpurua from Amery won the
D2 100. In D3 Kendall Hagness [Durand,100], Miranda Firari [Dodgeland, 200], and Kaylee Peterson [Ithaca/Weston, 400] won the Gold Medals in the D3 dash events. Go to the 2022 WIAA Dash Feature.

Shiocton's Stingle Repeats In LH's
In D1 Fond du Lac's Sydney Arndt blazed to a 14.01 in the prelims before winning the 100m HH finals. Homestead's Eva Brandenburg won the D1 300m LH. In D2 Mauston's Brie Eckerman was the HH winner while Edgewood's Amber Gross won the LH event. June 3-4, 2022 WIAA State Track And Field Meet At UW-La Crosse
Roisin Willis Sprints to 2:00.03 800m Time
Senior Roisin Willis from Stevens Point electrified an overflow crowd at the 2022 WIAA State Meet by recording an amazing 2:00.03 time in the 800m run. [ Pre-meet blog by Steven Tiez ]. Also in D1 Monona Grove's Mackenzie Babcock won the 1600 and Middleton's Zaira Malloy - Salgado was the 3200 winner. In D2 Northland Pines sophomore Nora Gremban repeated as 800m and 1600m champion while Fran Peterson from Barron won the Gold Medal in the 3200. Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg senior Kayci Martensen capped off an impressive running high school career by sweeping the distance events for the second straight year. Shorewood & West De Pere Each Win 2
In D1 West De Pere won the 4x1 and 4x4 relays on their way to the team championship. Also in D1 Mukwonago [4x2] and Fort Atkinson [4x8] were winners. In D2 the Shorewood relays [4x4, they also won the 2021 4x8] helped the Greyhounds win the team championship with La Crosse Logan [4x1] and Edgewood [4x2, they also won the 2021 4x2] winning the sprint relays. In D3 St. Mary's Springs [4x1], Lancaster [4x2, they also won the 2021 4x2], Colby [4x4], and Boscobel [4x8, they also won the 2021 4x8] were winners. Go to the 2022 WIAA Relay Feature.

New D1 Records In The LJ & PV Events
In D1 Rachel Blaskowski [LJ] from Oak Creek and Peyton Berryman [PV] from Homestead set D1 records. In the TJ Wisconsin Lutheran's Jaiah Hopf repeated as champion while in the HJ 2019 champion Olivia Van Zeeland from Kaukauna repeated as champion. In D2 MacKenzie Wissbroecker [Antigo, LJ], Celina Lopez [Ripon, TJ], Erin Gluch [Westby, HJ], and Anna Schueller [Notre Dame Academy, PV] were Gold Medal winners. In D3 first place winners were Ava Washburn [Webster, LJ, TJ], Kallie Volk [Three Lakes, HJ], and Miranda Firari [Dodgeland, PV, 2019 PV winner]. Go to the 2022 WIAA Jumps Feature.

Watertown's Riley Quinn Double Winner
In D1 Watertown senior Riley Quinn won both the shot put and discus events. In D2 Meghan Schultz from New Berlin West won the SP and in the discus Jefferson's Ayianna Johnson won the Gold Medal. June 3-4, 2022 WIAA State Track And Field Meet At UW-La Crosse
Turner's Cleaver Wins 4 Events
Chair athlete Rachel Cleaver a junior from Beloit Turner had quite a State Meet winning the 100, 400, 800, and SP events. In the SP she broke the record she set at the 2021 meet by 3/4 of an inch by recording a throw of 16' 00.75. Go to the 2022 WIAA Wheelchair Feature.

May 27, 2022 WIAA D3 Sectional At Cambridge
Athletes Weather The Challenge
Weather caused the Cambridge Sectional to be delayed until Friday morning. Athletes competed well despite all the adjustments and travel. The top 4 finishers in each event advanced to La Crosse and the State tournament. Dodgeland's Miranda Firari and BSMS athlete Kayci Martensen each won 3 events while the St. Mary's Springs sprint relays, Deerfield's Steffi Siewert, and Ozaukee hurdler Rebecca Hoffman were double winners. May 26, 2022 WIAA D2 Sectional At Rice Lake
Highlights From Rice Lake
Eight D1, and 4 D2 and 4 D3 WIAA Sectionals on May 26 and May 27 determined the qualifiers for the 2022 WIAA State Meet at La Crosse. John Reed has again shared highlights of a meet that will give track fans an idea of what to expect in La Crosse. Kalli Knoble was a triple winner [HJ, TJ, runner on the 4x1]. Double winners at Rice Lake were Brie Eckerman [HH, LH], Nora Gremban [800, 1600], and the Hayward 4x2 and 4x4 relays. La Crosse Logan won the team title. Go to the Rice Lake D2 Sectional.

May 23, 2022 D2 WIAA Regional At Waupun High School
Regionals Begin The Road to La Crosse
Teams and athletes began competing for the right to advance to the WIAA State Tournament in La Crosse. Waupun High School hosted a regional on a clear but cold night. This feature shows a few of the highlights at the meet which was won by Kewaskum closely followed by host Waupun. Celina Lopez from Ripon and Madilyn Dogs from Kewaskum were triple winners. Ninth grader Lydia Aalsma from Waupun was a double winner who posted a 58.76 in the 400m dash event. The top 4 finishers now move on to the Sectional at Waupun. Go to the D2 WIAA regional at Waupun.

Teams Compete For Sectional Spots
John Reed's photos from the 2022 Division 2 Regional at Osceola give viewers some of the highlights from that meet. Ninth grader Luciana Aizurua [Amery, 100, 200], Rachel Ulrich [Osceola, 800, 1600], Hailee Halverson [Barron, HH, HJ] and the Hayward 4x2 and 4x4 were double winners. May 16, 2022 Big Rivers Conference Meet At Menomonie
Sandvig Has Big Night At BRC
Chippewa Falls junior Brooklyn Sandvig set 4 conference records and established 4 new Top 50 performances at the Big Rivers Conference Meet held at the Menomonie High School Sports Complex. Hudson was the team champion outscoring 2nd place Eau Claire Memorial 147 to 106. Menomonie's Isabella Jacobsen was a double winner with Championships in the 1600m and 3200m run events. This feature highlighted the plans that 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 , 2020, and 2021 graduates had for competing at the college level. COVID has certainly disrupted the plans and goals of many of the senior athletes during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. With that in mind Wisconsin Track Online has highlighted the seniors from 2020 and 2021 who competed at La Crosse in the WIAA State Meet. Wisconsin Track Online will no longer produce features on senior plans. The final Senior Plans feature was for the 2021 season. The top 6 performances in the finals of the State Meet determine the makeup of the All-State team. WISTCA announced the All-State Team after their September meeting. Go to the 2022 All-State WISTCA awards. Gatorade named Roisin Willis as the 2022 Wisconsin "Player of the Year" in track and field. The All-State Teams for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021 are listed at Wisconsin Track Online. Because of COVID there was no All-State team named for the 2020 season. Wisconsin Track Online published the 2022 All-State team when WISTCA releases that information. on September 7, 2022. Former high school athletes competing at the next level are highlighted in this feature. The last feature in this series can be found at the updated 2021 link. This looking back feature gives viewers some of the history of track and field athletes. This feature also highlights former Wisconsin girls Honor Roll athletes who competed in the 2021 Olympic Trials at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon and in Japan for the 2020-21 Tokyo Olympics.
