Top 50 Leader Announces Future Plans  November 10, 2021. NLI Signing At Stevens Point Area Senior HS

November 10, 2021 National Letter Of Intent Signing At SPASH. Top 50 All-Time 400m, 800m, and 1600m Leader Roisin Willis Signs NLI For Stanford University Stevens Point Area Senior High School senior Roisin Willis has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for Stanford University in cross country and track. Willis is ranked #1 All-Time in the 400m dash, 800m run, and 1600m run events. In the photos above Willis is shown achieving a list of accomplishments. As a ninth grader in 2019 in her earliest track competition for SPASH she set a facility record in the 400m dash for the indoor track at UW - Stevens Point. At the 2019 WIAA State Meet she set the D1 record in the 800m event and anchored the SPASH 4x4 to a win. COVID wiped out the 2020 season for all athletes. She set the All-Time 800m performance at the Miles of Trials event held in New York City. At the Wisconsin Valley Conference 2021 Outdoor Championships held in Marshfield she won the 200m, 400m and anchored the 4x4 to a win. Her time of 53.62 set a WVC Record in the 400m dash. Because she competed in the 800m run at the Olympic Trials she missed the 2021 WIAA Tournament series. At the Olympic Trials held at the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR, Willis made the semi-finals in the 800m run finishing 14th out of 42 runners in that event. Larger image of the above composite . Gatorade named Willis the 2021 National Player of the Year in Track and Field. Willis received further honors when the Track and Field News High School Girls 2021 Athlete of the Year recognition had Willis finishing a close second to Paige Sommers [PV, 14' 09, Westlake Village, CA]. Also in the Mike Kennedy High School Girls All-American lists for Track and Field News Willis was #1 in the 800m [2:00.78] and #3 in the 400m [52.64]. 2021 All-American High School Track and Field Rankings. |
