Why We Love Croatia – Once an afterthought, Croatia has skyrocketed onto the European vacation scene over the past year thanks to its 1,777 kilometres of idyllic Mediterranean coastline and ancient seaside villages so picturesque that some became the site of filming for Game of Thrones. But, even as popular spots like Dubrovnik are packed with throngs of tourists each year, it’s still possible to find plenty of off-the-beaten path adventure in Croatia. You just have to know where to find it. We’re here to help you discover the emerging and lesser-known side of Croatia.

🗓️ Best Time to Visit

In the summer, Croatia gets swarmed with tourists, while tourism generally slows down during winter to the point that many tours don’t even operate. For these reasons, it’s best to plan your trip for shoulder season: between May and June or between September and October. The temperature is just right, the sites aren’t crowded, the accommodation is ample and reasonable and you’ll get to see all the highlights.
