I was baffled when my Airbnb renter put up a flagpole in my yard – then she hired a security guard and refused to leave

Chris owns a home in the New South Wales, Australia town of Anna Bay – 45 minutes east of Newcastle – and has rented out his property on Airbnb to hundreds of guests.

He told News9's A Current Affair that he didn’t have any issues with his previous tenants before a woman, known only as Robyn, moved in.

Chris claimed Robyn had erected a flagpole in the yard – a move he branded as strange.

He said that he asked the tenant to take it down, but she reportedly hit back claiming there were no rules requiring to do so.

Chris then claimed that the tenant started to hoard furniture and planted trees across the road.

The landlord made a series of allegations against the tenant – and she denied some of them when quizzed by News9.

Neighbors reportedly filed complaints against the tenant, prompting Chris to issue her with an eviction notice.

Robyn hired a security guard so any eviction couldn't be carried out.

Chris revealed that he tried to get into his property but his efforts were blocked by the security guard.

He claimed the guard told him: “Sorry you’re not legally allowed to stay here.”

Chris alleged that the woman was squatting in his home.

The landlord revealed that Robyn was behind in her rent at the time of the ordeal.

Chris was reportedly told by cops that there was little they could do.

He claimed that Airbnb officials told him to hire a lawyer in a bid to try and evict the tenant.

It remains unclear if the eviction was carried out.

The U.S. Sun has approached Airbnb for comment.
