Prof. Dr. Ambariyanto Marine Biology Expert

Dr. Ambariyanto is a professor in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science. He is the Vice Rector for International and Research Cooperation of Diponegoro University. He hold master degree in ocean science from University of Wales and PhD in marine ecology from University of Sydney. He is active in the advocy and development of national maritime policies. He also active in introducing Indonesian marine resource, ecosystem, and biodiversity in various academic and policy fora both nationally and globally. He writes more than ninety peer-review papers in journal and proceding in the field of marine biology and university management. His projects include sustainable management of seagrass, mangrove and coral ecosystem particularly in Indonesian national marine protected areas.

Prof. Sudharto

Environmental Expert

 Dr. Sudharto is a professor in the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Universitas Diponegoro. He received his master degree at Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University, Toronto, Canada and his PhD from School of Community and Regional Planning University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. He is an environmental expert who sit in the environmental expert board Indonesia’s Ministry of  Environment and Forestry.

Prof. Dr. Purwanto Chemical Engineering and Green Technology Expert

Dr. Purwanto is a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro. He received his master and Doctoral degree from INPT University of Toulouse, France. He is the Head of Green Technology Research Center that conduct research and activities in the area of green chemistry, green engineering, low carbon energy, and eco-efficiency which prioritizing the production of materials, products, processes and technologies that are environmentally friendly.

 

Dr. Amirudin

Expert in Media, Environment and Cultural Studies

Amirudin is an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology, the Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. He graduated doctoral in anthropology from the University of Indonesia. He was a member of The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) 2013-2016, an independent institution in Indonesia that function as regulators for broadcasting in Indonesia. He has played a significant role in the SDGs’ secretariat of Central Java Province since 2018 and provide a technical support for the development of SDG local action plan at the city and district levels in Indonesia. Ir. Winardi Dwi Nugraha, M.Si.

Ir. Winardi Dwi Nugraha, MS graduated from bachelor of engineering majoring in Civil Engineering, Diponegoro Univesrity in 1992. He completed his master degree in Encironmental Science in 2005. Currently, he is continuing his study in Doctoral Program of Environmental Science in Diponegoro University. His thesis was about river water quality and watershed management. His research interest are related to the watershed quality, such as solid waste management and agricultural waste. His interests subject also includes occupational safety and health, environmental health, and environmental performance assessment (PROPER). His researches are also involving other stakeholders such as government institution or private company.

 
Rukuh Setiadi, PhD Urban Planning and Climate Adaptation Expert

Rukuh Setiadi is a senior lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Diponegoro University, Indonesia and a researcher at the SDGs Centre of the university. He has background in urban planning (UNDIP), hold master degree in environmental management (Flinders University) and received his PhD in urban environmental policy from Griffith University. He is interested on the intellectual space between urbanization and governance in various contemporary urban topics such as climate change, green economy and food security. He also research on metropolitan management and recently consulted for the World Bank on metropolitan development solution case study in Indonesia. He is now designing a community-based environmental education, tourism and cultural program to showcase sustainable village community livelihood in urban ages. He gained training, research and planning experience in a number of projects funded by international donor grants such as UN-Habitat, IIED, GIZ and MercyCorps Indonesia.

 
Teuku Afrizal, PhD Development Studies and Environmental Sociologist Expert

Teuku Afrizal is a senior lecturer in the Department of Public Administration, Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia, and a researcher at the SDGs Center of the university. He was a Junior Research Fellows in Center for Asian Studies (IKMAS) National University of Malaysia, Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Senior Research Fellow in Borneo Research Institute for Indigenous Studies (BorIIS) Universiti Malaysia Sabah. He received a Ph.D. in development and environmental studies  from the center with the topic of community participation in municipal solid waste management. He is interested in urban ecosystem studies such as urban pollution studies, liveable city, safer city, liveable neighbourhood, independent community. Besides, he is an expert on environmental sociology and anthropology, social theory, and demography. He gained research experience in several projects funded by Ford Foundation, Toyota Foundation, UNDP, Scalabrini Migration Center, IKMAS, UKM, National Grant (Malaysia Government), BorIIS, UMS, Sabah Forestry Department, Jhon Hopkins University, Boston University, Sultan Mizan Royal Foundation (YDSM) and Malay Strategy Foundation. In general, the research focused on Peninsular Malaysia, the Sabah State of Malaysia and Narathiwat State of Thailand (Southern Thai).

Dr. Ing. Wiwandari Handayani Urban Resilience Expert

Wiwandari Handayani is an associate professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Diponegoro University, and a researcher at the SDGs Center of the university. She is the head of the Laboratory of Regional Development and Environmental Management in the department since 2012. Her research focuses on urban and regional resilience, mostly in the context of disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, and governance. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning (UNDIP), master degrees in urban and regional planning (ITB) and population studies (ANU-Australia), and holds a doctoral degree from the University of Stuttgart – Germany in regional development planning. She actively involves in works related to urban sustainability and resilience since 2011. She was in the team of Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN)-Rockefeller program in Semarang city, performed as M&E coordinator for several projects implemented in 2011-2014. She has been acting as the Deputy of Chief Resilience Officer (CRO), Semarang – Indonesia, under the program of Global Resilient Cities Network since 2015. She also actively promotes some urban climate resilient programs such as the Water as Leverage (WaL) supported by the Netherlands Government since 2018.

Dr. Diana Nur Afifah Nutrition and Healthy Food Expert

Diana Nur Afifah is a lecturer in the Department of Nutrition Science, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro. Her area of interest is nutrition and functional food. She is currently a Chief of CENURE (Center of Nutrition Research) Universitas Diponegoro. Her research mainly supported SDGs, especially Goal 2: No hunger and Goal 3: Good health and wellbeing. Her research was published in reputable international journals. She is also frequently invited as a speaker regarding this goal as community service activities on television and radio.

 
Bulan Prabawani, PhD ESD and Business Sustainability Expert

Bulan Prabawani is a lecturer as well as a researcher at the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (UNDIP), a master’s degree in Management (UNDIP), and holds a doctoral degree from Edith Cowan University, Australia in Business. Bulan is the Head of the Business Administration Department since 2016 and is actively involved in research at Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Business Sustainability in which she has obtained national competitive grants for research and publication since 2014 for ESD, redenomination, business sustainability.

 
Sugiharto, PhD Animal Science Expert

Sugiharto is an associate professor in the Department of Animal Science, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University. He has background in animal production (UNDIP), hold master degree in agrobiology (animal health and welfare) (Aarhus University) and PhD degree in animal science (immunology and microbiology) (Aarhus University). His research focuses on poultry nutrition, physiology and health. He also research on poultry product quality and safety. He has been a head of the Laboratory of Physiology and Biochemistry in the department since 2018. Besides research, he is also active in rural community empowerment.

Wahyu Widodo, PhD Economist

Wahyu Widodo is a lecturer and researcher in Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University. He also serves as advisor for the Regional Planning Agency of Central Java Province for poverty alleviation program. From 2017 to 2019, he was assigned to The Executive Office of The President Republic of Indonesia as advisor to provide series of analysis on the strategic issues of the Indonesian economy specifically on agriculture sector, food security, poverty, and current macroeconomic situation.

 
Mochamad Arief Budiharjo, PhD Environmental Engineering Expert

Mochamad Arief Budihardjo is a senior lecturer at the University of Diponegoro, Departement of Environmental Engineering. He received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Diponegoro University Indonesia, Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Griffith University in Queensland, and Ph.D. degree in Geoenvironmental Engineering from Curtin University in Western Australia. He leads Undip Initiative for Sustainability (UNITY) since 2016. His current research interests include solid waste and landfill management, air and water polution, and environmental sustainability.

Prof. Denny Nugroho Sugianto

Coastal Engineering and Disaster Mitigation Expert

Denny Nugroho Sugianto is a professor in the Department of Department of Oceanography, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Diponegoro. His research focuses on the oceanographic and atmospheric dynamics, disaster mitigation, climate change, coastal engineering, coastal protection by building with nature, and empowerment of coastal communities. He is part of the Center for Coastal Rehabilitation and Disaster Mitigation Studies (CoREM), Universitas Diponegoro.  

Dessy Ariyanti, PhD

Chemical Engineer

Dessy Ariyanti is a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro. She holds doctoral degree in Chemical and Material Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her research focuses on the development of advanced materials for water and wastewater treatment, renewable energy, and energy storage system. She is a researcher in Center of Biomass and Renewable Energy as well as in Advanced Material Laboratory in Universitas Diponegoro. She also actively involved in the community developments program for plastic waste and organic waste conversion into valuable products.  
Dr. Muhammad Helmi Remote Sensing and Geospatial Modeling Expert

Muhammad Helmi is a senior lecturer and researcher at the Department of Oceanography, Diponegoro University, and a researcher at the SDGs Center of the university. He is the head of the Coastal Rehabilitation and Disaster Mitigation Studies  since 2018. His research focuses on applied remote sensing and geospatial modeling, mostly on the coastal environment, rehabilitation and disaster mitigation studies. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geography (UGM), master degrees in coastal and marine resources (IPB), and holds a doctoral degree from Diponegoro University in coastal resources management. He actively involves in works related to applied remote sensing and geospatial modeling since 2006. He also actively promotes some climate resilient project, such as the Water as Leverage (WaL), water management, and Integrated Coastal Zone Mangement (ICZM) projects funded by the Netherlands Government (2018-2022) and coastal resilience projects coalborate with Cerema France (2016 – 2018).
