Carlos was born in Davis, CA, but spent his early years in Colombia, South America. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Musical Theatre at the United States International University in San Diego, CA. Carlos is the founder of the Hispanic Arts Theatre, an innovative theatre company that promotes Hispanic cultural awareness. Carlos has an extensive resume as a director, choreographer, and producer. He has won several awards: Mary Jane Teal Award for his production of In the Heights at Music Theatre Wichita, San Diego Critics Circle Awards for his productions of West Side Story, Ragtime and In the Heights for the Moonlight Stage Productions & Starlight Musical Theatre; the 2014 BRAVO (San Diego) award for body of work, Inland Theatre League Award for Choreography for his production of In the Heights at Performance Riverside and nominated for San Diego Critics Circle for SDMT’s production of In the Heights. When not working in the theatre, Carlos can be seen at Cygnet Theatre as their Education and Outreach Director.

Richard Dueñez Morrison is a San Diego-based music director, voice teacher, and theater educator, as well as the resident music director here at SDMT. He holds a master’s degree in musical theater from San Diego State University, a bachelor’s degree in stage management from Webster University, and is an adjunct professor of musical theater at San Diego City College and University of San Diego. Locally: Old Globe, Cygnet, Moonlight, Diversionary, SD Rep, SD Opera, SD Civic Light Opera, Triple Espresso, Coronado Playhouse, SD Junior Theatre. Nationally: Radio City Productions, Goodspeed Musicals, St. Louis Rep, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Hope Repertory Theatre, Pearl Theatre, York Theatre, Theater of the Stars, New York University. When not making theater or music, Richard loves movies, showbiz memoirs, and maps. Constant thanks to husband Kurt and parents, Renee and Dennis.

Aaron Pomeroy (Choreographer) is originally from San Diego and has an extensive background in theater, dance, and choreography. Performance credits include numerous theaters across the country, including Pioneer Theater Company, Moonlight Stage Productions, The Guthrie, and Sacramento Music Circus, as well as touring in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular and a company member with The San Diego Ballet for several seasons. Some of Aaron’s favorite choreography shows include Newsies, Sister Act, Mamma Mia, and Footloose, garnering critical acclaim for his innovative work. Most recently, Aaron had the pleasure of choreographing an 80’s flashback inspired show at Jamul Casino. As a master teacher and choreographer, Aaron is in high demand, with his students winning top awards at national dance competitions. A former faculty member of the dance department at Oklahoma City University, teaching tap and musical theater, and an MBA graduate, Aaron currently is the co-owner of Encore Performing Arts Showcase, a national dance competition celebrating its 27th season traveling across the country.
