About Us
Who Are We?
We are a team of 10 full-time passionate and dedicated sports fans. Doug & Mike launched the website in 2017, as a destination to learn the rules of football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and ice hockey. Doug wrote the original content for the five major US sports, spending years authoring the content. Rookie Road exists so that users all over the world can find high quality sports rules content. Over the years, the website has grown to include hundreds of sports from around the world including Curling, Cricket, Rugby, and more.

Our Writers
All of our writers go through a rigorous application process, where we require a writing sample, writing training, and ongoing check-in calls to improve their writing skills. All of our writers are college-educated and/or have a deep rooted passion for sports. All of our writers are trained how to write for quality, in the same tone of voice & style, and how to cite their sources in an academic way. Our writers use APA 7th edition to cite their sources.
Editorial Guidelines
At Rookie Road, we take pride in providing the best content about sports on the Internet. We cover the basic rules and regulations, equipment, player positions, and best practices when playing a sport. Our content is written from a non-bias perspective and we have a strict set of content standards.
At Rookie Road, we deeply care about the accuracy of our content. We follow an internal editorial policy that guides when producing our content. We do not use artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT to create our content. All content is created by real humans who get paid for their work. We strive to keep our content not biased or opinionated, presenting readers with the facts. We keep track of all of our sources internally.
Every article is reviewed by our full-time team for factual correctness. We spend every day reading our content and checking it for factual correctness. All of the content is consistently improved to provide the best experience for our readers.

Anyone can view the content available on Rookie Road. We currently only offer support in English-US. We will be looking to add multi-language support in the near future.

There are many sports you can learn on Rookie Road. We recommend picking a sport you like from the list of sports. The best way to learn is by exploring. Every piece of content is written from the beginner’s POV and assumes the reader has no knowledge on the subject.
