Hottest Trainer Contestant #8: Steve Massimini

New, 5 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome to Racked Philly's search for Philadelphia's hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile eight smokin' hot locals—fitness experts who not only look hot in spandex, but can make you look amazing too. Once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which readers vote for their favorites (polls open Thursday, August 21). Let the games begin!

The eighth and final contestant of this year's Hottest Trainer contest is Steve Massimini, better known around these parts as "the hunky dude with the obliques and the puppy dog eyes—but mostly the obliques ... and the pecs—yeah, the pecs are nice, too. Wait, what were you saying?"

Similar to a few of his Hottest Trainer competitors, Massimini quickly found that he wasn't cut out for desk work, so he put his degree in Business in storage and turned his attention to his true calling: personal training. Massimini worked his way up the corporate ladder—er, gym rope?—at a number of gyms around the area before realizing "hey, I can work for myself!" And four years ago, his Pine Street training studio, Mass Fitness, was born.

One thing to know about this walking specimen of hotness (besides the fact that—whomp whomp—he's not single)? Massimini is the real deal. He's certified in just about everything, and he gets great satisfaction out of seeing his clients achieve what he calls "everyday miracles," like walking without crutches, ditching the pain meds, and other physical comforts many of us take for granted. For the rest of us Tastykake-gobbling slobs, Massimini relies on a regimen of "movement, movement, movement," and if he sees you slacking, watch out: "If we are having trouble focusing, we will be wearing the 40-pound focus vest" is Massimini's go-to motivational phrase. Is it wrong to be kind of turned on right now?
