PENAMALUT.COM, JAKARTA – Dewan Pers menyambut baik kehadiran Pemerhati Jurnalis Siber (PJS) yang memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan pendidikan jurnalis dan mendorong semangat jurnalis untuk bisa menjadi jurnalis yang kompeten dan profesional.

Plt Ketua Dewan Pers, Agung Dharmajaya mengatakan, organisasi manapun yang memiliki tujuan untuk mendorong kebebasan pers dan sejalan dengan tujuan dan cita-cita dewan pers kita terima dan dukung.

“Kami mengapresiasi kepada siapapun itu organisasi yang mendorong kemerdekaan dan kebebasan pers. Disitu PJS mengambil peran dimana mendorong dan meningkatkan jurnalis siber agar tunduk dan patuh terhadap kode etik jurnalistik,” kata Agung saat menerima audiensi dengan PJS di Gedung Dewan Pers pada Kamis (20/10/2022).

Ditambahkannya, Dewan Pers membuka peluang sebesar-besarnya kepada organisasi manapun yang ingin menjadi organisasi profesional dengan memenuhi ketentuan dari Dewan Pers.

“Menjadi konstituen tentunya ada aturan dan ketentuan, sepanjang ketentuan dan aturan yang berlaku maka rasanya memungkinkan menjadi konstituen Dewan Pers,” katanya.

Sementara itu, Plt Ketua Umum Pemerhati Jurnalis Siber (PJS) Mahmud Marhaba dalam sambutannya mengatakan jika sejak awal dirinya bersama teman-teman yang se-visi menggagas lahirnya PJS sudah memberi batasan jika PJS merekrut anggota bukan dari anggota organisasi sejenis.

ā€œKami telah membuat kesepakatan jika seluruh anggota PJS adalah mereka yang bukan merupakan anggota dari organisasi pers yang sejenis, sehingga kehadiran PJS di tengah-tengah masyarakat tidak menimbulkan kegaduhan,ā€ tegas Mahmud yang didampingi Ketua Panitia Munas I PJS, Ridwan Mooduto bersama anggota panitia lainnya.

Mahmud yang juga Ahli Pers Dewan Pers itu mengatakan jika PJS siap mendukung tujuan dan cita-cita Dewan Pers yakni menjadikan jurnalis kompeten dan profesional.

ā€œKehadiran PJS tentunya mau bergandengan tangan mendukung dan bersama-sama dengan Dewan Pers untuk mewujudkan jurnalis yang baik dan benar, bukan hanya sekedar memahami kaidah penulisan berita, tetapi jauh dari itu adalah menjadikan jurnalis yang berintegritas yang mampu menjaga marwah pers secara keseluruhan,ā€ tegas Mahmud sambil mengingatkan jika roh dari PJS adalah pendidikan dan pelatihan menuju jurnalis kompeten.

Secara umum, Mahmud juga menyampaikan rencana penyelenggaraan Munas I PJS yang akan digelar pada akhir bulan November 2022 mendatang, dimana Dewan Pers diminta hadir dalam memberikan penguatan terkait materi Kode Etik Jurnalistik bagi anggota PJS yang bakal hadir dari seluruh wilayah nusantara.

Hadir pula Anggota Dewan Pers, Asmono Wikan serta Tenaga Ahli Dewan Pers Hubungan Antar Lembaga dan Luar Negeri, serta staf Sekretariat Dewan Pers, Sariful yang juga membidangi Komisi Pengaduan dan Penegakan Etika Pers. (red)
