PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Wali Kota Ternate, M. Tauhid Soleman beberapa waktu lalu berjanji menyekolahkan dua orang anak yang putus sekolah akhirnya ditepati.
Kedua orang anak tersebut yakni, Sergio S. Pinang dan Muhammad Kholil. Meski demikian, dari kedua anak ini baru Sergio S. Pinang yang disekolahkan di SMP Islam 1 Kota Ternate kelas VIII, sedangkan Muhammad Kholil belum masuk sekolah lantaran belum melengkapi persyaratan yang dibutuhkan di sekolah.
Menurut Tauhid, ada beberapa kekurangan yang dialami oleh Muhammad Kholil, sehingga dari Dinas Pendidikan, Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak, Dinas Dukcapil dan Dinas Sosial akan menggelar rapat bersama untuk melakukan asesmen mengenai beberapa kekurangan yang dimiliki Muhammad Kholil.
“Karena ada beberapa kekurangan yang terdapat pada anak ini, seperti kartu keluarga, sedangkan untuk Sergio perlu ada pra atau pengenalan lingkungan pada saat masuk selama satu minggu, sehingga betul-betul siap sekolah,” ujar Tauhid, Selasa (23/8).
Tauhid menuturkan, secara program pihaknya tetap menyiapkan kekurangan tersebut, sedangkan anak masih putus sekolah nanti diidentifikasi. Tauhid juga meminta pemerintah kecamatan dan kelurahan untuk mengkroscek di wilayah masing-masing.
“Karena kemungkinan besar masih terdapat anak-anak yang belum beruntung. Untuk Sergio, kami memastikan menanggulangi biaya pendidikannya sampai selesai sekolah,” katanya.
Sementara, Kepala SMP Islam 1 Kota Ternate, Wahda S. Umsoohy menambahkan, dengan kebijakan Wali Kota melalui Dinas Pendidikan, pihaknya sebagai sekolah swasta tetap melaksanakan program tersebut.
“Karena beberapa waktu lalu, kami juga sosialisasi terkait anak putus sekolah, sehingga mereka bisa dapat bersekolah,” tutur Wahda.
Wahda bilang, SMP Islam 1 Kota Ternate sampai sekarang sudah menerima 8 orang anak putus sekolah. Wahda mengaku, hal ini bukanlah sebuah pencitraan. Sebab, keterpanggilan SMP Islam 1 Kota Ternate mempersilakan semua warga negara berhak mendapatkan pendidikan.
“Kami menerima anak yang putus sekolah. Namun, harus ada persyaratan dapodik yang diterima seperti akta kelahiran, kartu keluarga dan ijazah,” jelas Wahda.
Kemudian persyaratan lainnya, sambung Wahda, anak tersebut harus di bawah 17 tahun. Sebab wajib belajar itu harus 9 tahun, namun bukan berarti pihaknya mengabaikan warga yang beruntung bersekolah.
“Ini tinggal komunikasi antara guru dan orang tua, sehingga anak yang sudah masuk sekolah tidak lagi putus sekolah dan siap sampai selesai sekolah,” pungkasnya. (udi/tan)
