PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Polairud Polda Maluku Utara mengamankan satu buah kapal besrta 7 orang anak buah kapal (ABK) di perairan Pulau Taliabu.
Mereka diamankan lantaran melakukan penangkapan ikan menggunakan bahan peledak bom. 7 nelayan ini dirinhkus pada Jumat (26/5) WIT sekira pukul 01.30 WIT dinihari tadi.
Kabid Humas Polda Malut, Kombes (Pol) Michael Irwan Thamsil, membenarkan hal tersebut.
“Personel Marnit Pulau Taliabu dan Personel KP XXX-2008 telah mengamankan kapal dan 7 orang awak Kapal Musda 02 di perairan Taliabu, karena menangkap ikan menggunakan bom,” bebernya.
Michael menjelaskan, penangkapan ini bermula ketika personel sedang melakukan kegiatan patroli rutin. Mereka kemudian mendapatkan laporan dari masyarakat bahwa adanya aktivitas penangkapan ikan dengan menggunakan bahan peledak oleh nelayan dari Bokang, Kabupaten Banggai.
Petugas lalu bergerak cepat menuju lokasi yang dilaporkan warga. Setelah tiba di lokasi, mereka mendapati satu kapal sedang melakukan aktivitas penangkapan ikan sebagimana yang dilaporkan masyarakat. Petugas langsung melakukan tembakan peringatan, akan tetapi Nakhoda kapal tidak mengindahkan peringatan tersebut dan langsung melarikan diri menuju perairan Pulau Banggai.
“Personel langsung melakukan pengejaran kurang lebih selama 2 jam dan berhasil melumpuhkan satu awak kapal dengan melakukan penembakan di paha kiri. Disitulah baru Kapal Musda 02 dimatikan mesinnya dan para awak kapal keluar keatas dek,” jelasnya.
Dari penangkapan tersebut, kata Michael, personel berhasil mengamankan satu unit kapal, satu ton ikan, satu bom dengan menggunakan botol, dan satu bom menggunakan gelon berukuran 5 liter.
“Selanjutnya para awak kapal di bawa ke Dit Polairud Polda Maluku Utara untuk dilakukan penyelidikan,” tuturnya.
Pihaknya mengimbau kepada masyarakat agar tetap menjaga kelestarian alam. Ketika melakukan penangkapan ikan, harus sesuai dengan aturan yang ada, yakni tidak menggunakan bahan peledak yang dapat merusak habitat.
“Apabila melihat atau mendapati kegiatan yang dapat membahayakan habitat dan melanggar aturan yang ada, segera laporkan kepada kepolisian terdekat untuk segera ditindaklanjuti,” imbuhnya. (tox/ask)
