PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Pangkalan TNI Angkatan Laut (Lanal) Ternate akan menindak tegas kepada masyarakat yang menangkap ikan menggunakan bom ikan maupun zat kimia di wilayah Provinsi Maluku Utara.
“Kalau ditemukan ada nelayan yang tangkap ikan dengan cara menggunakan bom dan zat kimia pasti kita tangkap dan proses. Kita tidak ada ampun dengan yang begitu, karena massa depan laut ada ditangan kita sekarang,” tegas Komandan Pangkalan TNI AL (Danlanal) Ternate, Kolonel Laut (P) Ashari Sunan, Selasa (22/2) tadi.
Menurutnya, laut juga untuk massa depan anak dan cucu kita jadi harus kita lindungi.
Jadi pengeboman itu metode mencari ikan yang sangat-sangat tidak dianjurkan karena sangat merusak ekosistem laut, walupun hasilnya muda.
“Cara mencari ikan yang paling muda, tapi sangat merusak,” ujarnya.
Lanjutnya, begitu kita sekali mencari ikan dengan menggunakan bom, ekosistem di sekitar pasti akan rusak. Jadi tempat bertelur, lahir dan hidupnya ikan pasti akan musnah dengan adanya bom.
“Saya imbau kepada masyarakat dan khsusunya nelayan yang mencari ikan dengan menggunakan bom maupun bahan kimia sebaiknya dihindari,” imbuhnya.
Karena itu, ia meminta kepada masyarakat yang melihat ataupun mengetahui adanya penggunakan bom ataupun dengan bahan kimia dalam mencari ikan, maka segera laporkan ke Lanal Ternate langsung ditindak lanjuti.
“Bagaimana pun juga laut Malut itu luas, kemudian sarana patroli kita juga terbatas. Sehingga peran masyarakat untuk memberikan informasi apabila ada yang menangkap ikan menggunkan bom dan bahan kimia sangat dibutuhkan,” harapnya.
“Saya juga tekankan kepada anggota yang ada di Posal-Posal agar tidak bermain dengan situasi seperti ini. Apabila menemukan dan mendengarkan adanya nelayan yang alat tangkap yang tidak diizinkan untuk tidak bermain-main dengan itu. Jadi jangan menjadi duri dalam daging,” tukasnya. (gon)
