PENAMALUT.COM, LABUHA – Mantan Bupati Halmahera Selatan, Bahrain Kasuba, mendirikan kampus perguruan tinggi kebidanan.
Kampus tersebut diberi nama Akademi kebidanan Sara’nun yang terletak di Desa Marabose, Kecamatan Bacan, Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan.
Bahrain kepada wartawan media ini menjelaskan, tujuan pendirian kampus tersebut sebagai langkah konkrit dalam menjawab tantangan persaingan dunia pendidikan saat ini, khususnya jurusan kebidanan di Halmahera Selatan.
“Kampus ini dibangun untuk dipersiapkan bagi bapak/ibu yang punya anak ingin kuliah di kebidanan, tidak perlu lagi keluar kuliah jauh-jauh di kampus lain. Sebab di Halsel sudah ada kampus kebidanan,” ujarnya, Kamis (6/1).
Selain itu, lanjut BK sapaan akrabnya, pendirian kampus Akademi Kebidanan ini sebagai solusi menjawab SDM anak-anak Halsel yang memilih untuk mengambil jurusan kebidanan.
“Memang kita harus akui kalau jurusan kebidanan di Halsel sangat penting. Untuk itu, kampus ini dipersiapkan agar anak-anak yang kuliah mengambil jurusan kebidanan lebih mudah,” tuturnya.
Politisi Partai Gerindra ini juga mengungkapkan, disamping jurusan kebidanan, juga akan disiapkan jurusan keguruan. Saat ini sedang dipersiapkan semuanya, baik jurusan, fasilitas dan seluruh kebutuhan kampus.
Jurusan guru, kata dia, juga penting. Karena itu diupayakan untuk menghadirkan jurusan keguruan, agar orang yang kuliah mengambil jurusan guru bisa lebih mudah lagi.
Ia bilang, sebagai anak bangsa dan juga politisi, membangun suatu daerah tidak harus berada di birokrasi atau menjadi pejabat, barulah bisa berkarya. Sebab sebuah tanggung jawab sebagai seorang negarawan yang baik untuk ikut serta memajukan kehidupan bangsa dalam konteks pendidikan, sebagai wujud memaknai isi UUD 45 pada alinea ke empat, yakni mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa
“Sehingga itu berkarya tidak harus menjadi pejabat, tetapi kemauan dan kepedulian kepada daerah harus benar-benar ada dan hadir di setiap kehidupan yang kita jalani,” tandasnya. (rul/ask)
