PENA – Badan Narkotika Nasional Provinsi (BNNP) Maluku Utara berhasil menangkap dua pelaku narkoba jenis ganja.
Kedua pelaku ini yakni RM alias Rahul (20), dan IM alias Ilham (18). Keduanya ditangkap saat mengambil paket ganja di salah satu jasa pengiriman di Kota Ternate, pada Minggu (21/3) lalu sekira pukul 11.46 WIT.
Penangkapan keduanya bermula ketika petugas BNNP menerima informasi dari masyarakat terkait adanya pengiriman paket ganja melalui salah satu jasa pengiriman.
Setelah menerima informasi itu, petugas langsung menuju ke tempat pengiriman tersebut dan melakukan pengintaian. Tak butuh waktu lama, petugas pun membekuk kedua tersangka yang telah dicurigai gerak geriknya.
“Setelah kita tangkap lalu memeriksa paket yang dijemput itu, ternyata berisikan 198 sachet ganja kering dengan berat 445 gram yang siap diedarkan,” jelas Kepala BNNP Malut, Brigjen (Pol) Roy H. Siahaan dalam rilis yang diterima wartawan, Senin (29/3).
Selain mengamankan barang bukti ganja, petugas juga mengamankan barang bukti berupa handphone (HP). Hasil tes urien kedua tersangka ini juga positif.
Atas perbuatannya, kedua tersangka itu diancam pidana dalam pasal 111 dan 131 Undang-Undang Nomor 35 tahun 2009 tentang Narkotika. Ancaman hukum paling singkat 5 tahun dan paling lama 20 tahun penjara.
Ganja yang siap diedarkan ini, kata Roy, disinyalir menyasar ke pelajar dan mahasiwa di Kota Ternate dan Malut pada umumnya.
Lanjut jenderal bintang satu ini, ganja merupakan salah satu jenis Narkotika golongan satu yang dapat merusak otak dan berdampak pada perubahan perilaku dan karakter. Sehingga itu, pelaku narkoba ini berpotensi melakukan tindakan kriminal.
Dirinya sebagai Kepala BNNP Malut mengimbau kepada seluruh masyarakat agar selalu mewaspadai peredaran Narkotika jenis tanaman ini.
“Saya mengimbau kepada seluruh masyarakat di Maluku Utara agar tidak selalu waspada terbadap narkoba dan selalu menjauhinya,” imbuhnya menutup. (Nda/Red)
