PENA – Sejak larangan eksport ore (bijih) mentah diberlakukan, PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) yang beroperasi di Halmahera Timur (Haltim) mulai memasok nikel dari Barnopo dan Pulau Pakal ke pabrik pengolahan nikel Pomalaa, Kabupaten Kolaka, Sulawesi Tenggara.
Hal ini terus dilakukan dari tahun ke tahun hingga sekarang. Sementara industri pengolahan PT FeNi Haltim yang dibangun sejak tahun 2011 silam belum melakukan operasi pengolahan hingga saat ini.
PT FeNi Haltim merupakan anak perusahaan dari PT ANTAM yang dibangun untuk kepentingan hilirisasi pertambangan di wilayah Haltim.
Berdasarkan data Konsorsium Advokasi Tambang (KATAM) Maluku Utara, megaproyek industri pengolahan ini memiliki estimasi yang sangat fantastis. Nilai proyek FeNi Haltim sebesar 1,6 miliar dolar AS, termasuk 600 juta dolar AS untuk pembangunan pembangkit listrik berkapasitas 275MW yang akan dikembangkan oleh PT PLN (Persero).
Proyek yang dilahirkan dari konsep Masterplan Percepatan dan Perluasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Indonesia (MP3EI) untuk Koridor Ekonomi Papua, Kepulauan Maluku dan Maluku Utara ini, dikatakan KATAM sebagai proyek gagal.
Koordinator KATAM Muhlis Ibrahim mengatakan, solusi terbaik dalam meminimalisir kerugian negara akibat dari hasil tambang nikel dibawa ke Pomala, Sulawesi Tenggara, adalah dengan menghentikan sementara kegiatan produksi bijih nikel di Barnopo dan Pulau Pakal.
“Dari hasil kajian kami, harus dihentikan sementara hingga pabrik pengolahan PT FeNi beroperasi. Jika tidak, Provinsi Maluku Utara sebagai wilayah penghasil bijih nikel justru mengalami kerugian hingga ratusan miliar dalam satu tahun,” tukas Muhlis. (*)
