What Happened To Kelly Dodd's Ex-Husband Scott Christopher Silva?

Kelly Dodd has said "I do" for the third time. Per Us Weekly, the "Real Housewives of Orange County" star tied the knot with her husband, former Fox News correspondent Rick Leventhal, in a private ceremony in Santa Rosa, California in October 2020. She announced their engagement in November 2019, shortly after meeting Rick through Ramona Singer of "The Real Housewives of New York City" at a party in his house in the Hamptons. At the time of their engagement, Kelly shared her excitement to marry again in an interview with People, saying, "I'm beyond excited for our future together. Rick is my best friend. My partner in crime ... I can't believe this happened to me. I feel like I just won the lottery."

Before Rick, the Bravo star split from her ex-husband Michael Dodd in 2017 after being married for 11 years. She confirmed their divorce in a statement to the Daily Mail, saying things had been rocky for a while when she and Michael decided to end their marriage. "It's just a case where two people can't get along. It's best if we went our separate ways and concentrate on our daughter," she told the outlet. The pair, who shares daughter Jolie, finalized their divorce in February 2018. In addition to Rick and Michael, Kelly was also previously married to lawyer Scott Christopher Silva from 2001 to 2004. He filed for divorce from Kelly in July 2004, stating in his petition that their marriage was "irretrievably broken" with "no reasonable prospect of reconciliation." According to Radar Online, they finalized their divorce in October 2004.

Scott Christopher Silva is now a magistrate judge

Since parting ways with Kelly Dodd, Scott Christopher Silva has continued to practice law. Currently, he serves as a magistrate judge for the City of Chandler in Arizona where he presides over criminal cases at the trial level, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was appointed a magistrate judge in October 2023 after serving pro tempore in Mesa, Arizona for two years, from May 2021 to September 2023. Prior to serving in court, Silva worked as a trial attorney for more than 25 years and was widely regarded as one of the best defense lawyers in the State of Arizona, according to the website of the National College for DUI Defense, or NCDD. He specialized in criminal defense, covering all felonies and misdemeanors, as well as DUI/DWI defense and personal injury law.

Unlike her marriage with Michael, Kelly has never really talked about her relationship with Silva in public, except for one interview where she mentioned getting married for the first time in her 20s. "Well, my first marriage was to a lawyer," she told Bravo Insider in October 2020. Notably, Silva isn't the only lawyer Kelly has romanced in the past, as she was also briefly linked to disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti back in 2018. She revealed their romantic connection in 2019, in light of Avenatti's arrest for allegedly trying to extort up to $25 million from Nike, as NPR reported. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kelly said, "I can't believe I dated @MichaelAvenatti... I dodged a bullet on that one."

Kelly Dodd is happy in her current marriage

Kelly Dodd has found the love of her life in her husband Rick Leventhal. Speaking with E! News shortly their nuptials, the "Real Housewives of Orange County" star opened up about their marriage and how she and Leventhal have been adjusting to their life as newlyweds. "Everything is working out really great. We're transferred over to the L.A. bureau and he's loving the weather here," she said, adding, "Jolie [my daughter] loves him and it's been fantastic. We've had a wonderful journey so far." Like Dodd, Leventhal has also been married twice before: first to fellow reporter Penny Daniels, with whom he shares his daughters Veronica and Soshana, per Bravo. He then eloped with professional poker player Beth Shak. He and Shak split in 2017 after just less than a year of marriage, according to Page Six.

Gushing about Leventhal in Bravo's "After Show" special in 2019, Dodd described her husband as the "man of her dreams." She recalled how the news correspondent courted her shortly after their first meeting that summer, per TooFab. "He came to London to see me, and then he went to Italy," she said. "He traveled like four countries [just] to come see me." At the time, she also got candid about their sex life, claiming that Leventhal not only has a great personality — he's also amazing in bed! "He's loyal ... he's high-profile, he's articulate... This guy's f***ing amazing!" she exclaimed. "And he's gorgeous. He's great in the sack."
