Wanaka

Wanaka

Wanaka is Queenstown’s little sister, located only an hour away by car. I’ve always loved Wanaka and enjoy visiting all the time – there’s so much to do in this little mountain town!

The town sits on the shores of Lake Wanaka and is the gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park and famous attractions such as Roy’s Peak—arguably the most famous hike in NZ—and the Blue Pools.

I always encourage people to stay in Wanaka for at least a night or two. It’s a great road trip stop, and you’ll be able to enjoy some pretty unique attractions even if you don’t consider yourself a hiker.

I’ve been to Wanaka more times than I can count, so it’s safe to say I have a wealth of knowledge in the area. Below, you’ll find all my Wanaka travel guides all in one easy-to-navigate place.

Enjoy!
