Disney+ gives viewers access to hours of entertainment, including the new Beckham documentary, Halloween-ready Haunted Mansion, and The Mandalorian. But, with the streaming giant set to increase its prices from £7.99 to £10.99 from November 1, subscribers will be forced to shell out an extra £36 a year for the privilege in just a few days.

Luckily, The Mirror's tech expert Harriet Morphy-Morris has revealed a simple trick to avoid the extra cost and it's as easy as signing up for an annual plan.

How can you avoid Disney+ price hikes?

"Users can lock-in the existing Disney+ prices when they sign-up for an annual plan. It will cost £79.90 upfront, but this 12-month price works out £15.98 cheaper than paying on a rolling monthly basis. And of course, you'll be able to enjoy all of the same perks as Disney+ Premium for the next 365 days (without the extra cost)," explains Harriet.

Describing it as a "real winner", she says of the hack: "Once the rises kick in you'll save £3 a month, or £36 across the full plan, as you're not having to fork out the newer £10.99 price."

What happens if you're already a Disney+ subscriber?

Harriet confirms that you don't have worry if you're already a subscriber as the site's flexible cancellation terms mean you can simply switch over to a yearly plan. "Once you've cancelled your existing monthly payments there's no harm in paying for a full year upfront to lock in the prices," she explains.

The price change isn't all bad news as the shake up has been introduced to replace the current one-size-fits-all approach, hopefully catering to more needs. "A new £4.99 plan will offer cheaper streaming, but subscribers will need to put up with advertisements during their favourite shows and movies on Disney+," Harriet explains.

A £7.99 price will remain, but Harriet mentions that a few features will be removed and instead reserved for the new Disney+ Premium members. This includes "the ability to stream 4K Ultra HD, enjoy Dolby Atmos audio, and watch across four devices simultaneously," she says.
