An ASUS laptop that reviewers called "one of the best sub-£400 laptops available today" is currently on sale. The Vivobook 15 E1504FA has had 12 per cent knocked off the price, bringing it down to £299.99 from its recommended retail price of £339.

The laptop garnered 4 stars from review site Windows Central, who wrote: "With generous port selection, fingerprint reader, decent camera, comfy keyboard, and expected performance, the VivoBook 15 makes a strong case for itself in the sub-$500 [£400] market. Battery life is a letdown, and the screen isn't overly colorful, but these are easy to look past when compared to the drawbacks of many other budget laptops on the market." It's also got a good 4.4 out of 108 reviews on Amazon.

Asus are a fairly reliable brand and coming in at 15.6 inches means it's ideal for work, school or uni. It has 8GB of RAM, meaning not only will it handle all day-to-day programmes without any problem, you can play a fair few games on there as well. Make sure you check the minimum RAM requirements before purchasing a game.

While most Vivobooks 10th Gen Intel Core i3-1005G1 processor - categorised by being fast and efficient - this has a Ryzen 3-7320U quad-core processor. This is the higher-end of the cheaper Ryzen CPUs, but is not as powerful as the Ryzen 5 7520U, but only by a range of 0.4 GHz. However, this is explained with the price: with an Intel i7 processor, it costs £599 at Argos.

Taking out reviews for the processor as Amazon has sold this model at various degrees of power, one reviewer wrote: "No noise, very light and good quality. Very much a mid range, doesn't feel like one of those £400 and less laptops." However, a more mixed review said: "The keyboard is a poor colour making it hard to see in daylight. Several log-in problems over the months. Battery life particularly disappointing. Would not recommend."
