A teenage boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in East London. The 15-year-old was involved in the collision in Prince Regent Lane in Newham.

The incident took place on Tuesday, October 17 and police were called to the scene at 2.21pm. The driver of the car did not stop at the scene.

After being hit by what is believed to have been a white Toyota Prius the boy was taken to hospital and his next of kin were informed. He remains in hospital in a life threatening condition.

The police are working to trace the vehicle and road closures are in place. Enquiries are ongoing.

This incident comes a day after another young person was hit on the road. A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police called at 14:50hrs (on Monday, October 16) in Prince Regent Lane to collision involving a car and girl on a bicycle.

"Injuries [are] not life threatening or life changing, no arrests."
