Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen and more are among the top-grossing touring country artists of all time.

Billboard Boxscore has been tracking music industry tour numbers for decades, recently releasing its 2023 Billboard Boxscore Mid-Year report.

Who Are The Top-Grossing Country Touring Artists Of All Time?

That tally was led by Harry Styles, but also included country artists Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen and Carrie Underwood. Following the release of the mid-year report, Billboard Boxscore shared a new list of the 20 top-grossing country touring artists of all time, and it’s no surprise who’s at the top.

That would be Kenny Chesney, who has consistently been headlining stadium tours for years, bringing in major money and allowing him to play for millions of fans throughout his long career. He has a total reported gross of $1.172 billion over 952 shows that saw him play to 17.9 million audience members.

While Taylor Swift would most likely be atop this list if it spanned her whole career, Billboard only included tours where the singer was headlining as primarily a country artist, which were still hugely successful enough to put her at No. 9 overall. Through her 2013-2014 The Red Tour, she grossed $339 million over 293 shows with attendance of 4.5 million.

Billboard Boxscore Mid-Year Report

Billboard made sure to point out that Garth Brooks’ most recent tours, including his The Garth Brooks World Tour (2014-2017) and The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour (2018-2022), were not reported to Boxscore and estimated that he would be in the Top 3 if those numbers were included. As it stands, he’s at No. 13 with a gross of $280.8 million, playing to 10.2 million fans over 657 shows.

It’s also worth noting that Morgan Wallen, currently on his One Night at a Time World Tour, made the list at No. 14 with only 92 shows and a gross of $278.4 million, as nearly every other artist has hundreds that count toward their tallies.

That’s safe for No. 19 and 20, Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton, respectively, who have around 200 shows each. Combs’ current gross is $225.6 million, while Stapleton’s is $224.3 million, two numbers that will only continue to grow with time.
