Hello! Bonjour!

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Andi Fisher and I am pleased to meet you and share a little about who I am:

I am a content creator, storyteller, brand ambassador, and marketer.

Oh and a Francophile who happens to be married to a French man. I have been to Paris more than 50 times! I go at least once a year and I love it!

I am a world traveler, a foodie, a bookworm, and a movie nut.

I grew up an Army brat living all over the United States, Latin America, and Europe.

I am not a domestic goddess, fashionista, or a mean person, if you are looking for that, move along.

I don’t take myself too seriously and don’t expect any of you to either.

I am fun, positive, and strive to make each day the best it can be. Heck, there is so much you cannot control, I choose to be happy!

Why read Misadventures with Andi?

I love all things French and embrace the French lifestyle, or inspire to at least. When it comes to traveling to Paris, I have been there more than 50 times so I’ve got you covered. I love all my expat friends and locals that live there, but they aren’t tourists and forget what it’s like to visit the City of Light as such.

I am always a tourist, even if I am a well-informed one, and I share my tips and tricks, and experiences. I speak the language, I am married to a French guy, so I have some advantages, but I am always a tourist!

I blog about the things I like: travel, France, especially Paris, food, movies, books, French culture, and lifestyle.

When I am not in Paris I am pining for the southwest or any spot in the outdoors where I can be away from the crowds and soak in nature!

Why the name Misadventures with Andi?

In 2003, I moved to Switzerland to work. That was the first time living in a foreign country without my parents, so of course, there were mishaps, or misadventures, which I reported to all my friends and family in a weekly email called Misadventures with Andi.

“I’d rather have misadventures than no adventures at all!”

In 2008, when I decided to start a blog, the name stuck.

More About Me…

I am a full-time corporate gal with 30+ years of experience in customer advocacy, social media, influencer + content marketing. In November 2015, I quit my job in San Francisco, sold my house in Berkeley, and bought an RV with my hubby! During 2016-7, we escaped the old life and traveled throughout the U.S.

We landed in Phoenix where we spent 2 years exploring the beautiful Southwest. I went back to corporate life working as the program manager for an enterprise influencer program and then got a dream job managing a customer advocacy program at Red Hat (all opinions are mine and not my employer’s).

I fell in love with Raleigh, North Carolina and at the beginning of 2020, Mr. Misadventures and I picked up our household, left Phoenix, and resettled on the East Coast in the wonderful Raleigh-Durham area.
