Very well done. Can we get 100% confirmation that The Murdoch Family has never acknowledged that the show is on them (or at least based on them)? L Murdoch gets a thumbs up on the WWE SmackDown to FOX deal also. Very impressive wins all around for FOX, and good on the HBO family for seeing this peak behind the curtain of the family make the light on day. 4.9 stars out of 5 (just so you keep striving to be even better). Thanks.

Greg Tingle ...I see traces of Donald Trump in Logan Roy. The character is probably a mix of them all.

Greg Tingle I want to see the scene played out where FOX top brass do the multi-year deal with Vince McMahon's WWE pro wrestling (sports entertainment) promotion. One or two Murdoch's doing a business deal with a couple of McMahon's is likely compelling viewing. I'm an ex subscriber television executive (PPV's, bundling and ethnic channels), and a long time wrestling fan, hence my interest in this scenario. We're ramping up coverage as I write this commentary!

About the Show

The Roy family – Logan Roy and his four children – controls one of the biggest media and entertainment conglomerates in the world. Succession, which was nominated for five 2019 Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama Series, tracks their lives as they contemplate what the future will hold for them when — or if — their aging father begins to step back from the company.

Created by Oscar and WGA nominee Jesse Armstrong (In the Loop), with the pilot written by Armstrong and directed by Oscar-winner Adam McKay (The Big Short), Succession’s second season picks up where season one dramatically left off as the Roy family faces myriad internal and external threats.

Set in New York, Succession explores themes of power, politics, money, and family. Logan Roy (Brian Cox), the tough, powerful, aging patriarch, is head of Waystar Royco, a family-controlled international media conglomerate. He is married to his third wife, Marcia (Hiam Abbass), a loving, formidable partner.

At the center of the Roy family are three of Logan’s children: troubled former heir-apparent Kendall (Jeremy Strong), his outspoken, fun-loving brother Roman (Kieran Culkin), and his savvy but conflicted sister, Shiv (Sarah Snook). The series follows their joust for power as they each struggle to retain control of their father's empire in their own way. While the future looks increasingly uncertain, it is the past that threatens to ultimately destroy them.

Season 2 cast includes Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Natalie Gold, Peter Friedman, Rob Yang, J. Smith Cameron, Dagmara Dominczyk and Arian Moayed.

Succession was created by Jesse Armstrong; executive produced by Jesse Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Will Ferrell, Jane Tranter and Mark Mylod. Jesse Armstrong serves as showrunner.
