Welcome to Jesse Ventura’s Die First, Then Quit only on Substack. Here you can follow all of my latest articles, videos, and podcasts as I unleash my thoughts, views, and insights on today’s most important news stories and events.

Finally the handcuffs are off.

Now I can speak directly to you without any television networks, governments, or wrestling promoters trying to tell me what I can or can’t say. In my career I have been silenced twice for speaking out against military invasions, first at MSNBC when I took a stand against the invasion of Iraq and then again at RT America when I spoke out against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to finally be able be on a platform like Substack where I can communicate directly to my fans, supporters, and everyone else who, like me, wants to see an end to the two party dictatorship, an end to Wall Street’s unrivaled greed, and most importantly an end to the Military Industrial Complex that puts all our lives in danger.

Thank you for subscribing to Dive First, Then Quit. It’s going to be quite an adventure. An adventure that we will take together.

Sincerely,

Gov. Jesse Ventura

Jesse Ventura’s Die First, Then Quit Substack

Welcome Everyone…

Gov. Jesse Ventura here to announce that I’m bringing my unique brand of politics, philosophy, and personal experiences to the fantastic free speech platform that is Substack.

Here you will find all my thoughts, opinions, and personal life stories from more than five decades of living the many adventures that have made up my life. From my younger days as a UDT/SEAL to the wild world of professional wrestling and then on to when I shocked the world and became the 38th Governor of the great state of Minnesota.

Every week, subscribers will have access to brand new original articles, exclusive podcasts, and video commentary covering current important news stories, events, and figures, as only Jesse “The Body” Ventura can provide.

Why Substack…
Last year I celebrated my 70th trip around the sun and while I’m excited to enter into my so-called twilight years, I am very disheartened to see that history has once again repeated itself.

After a many successful years of speaking truth to power on my hit television show “The World According To Jesse” on RT America, I was unceremoniously removed from the airwaves after speaking out against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, just like I was silenced back in 2003 when MSNBC took me off the air during run up to the United State’s invasion of Iraq.

Two times now my unwavering belief in peace and outspoken criticism of the Military Industrial Complex have cost me my job. There will not be a third! So, like Lebron James heading to Miami, I’m bringing my talents to Substack, one of the few places left where free speech still reigns supreme.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally have found a home where I can speak directly to you, the people. No more strings attached, no more corporate sponsors, or anonymous network suits worried about looking good at DC cocktail parties. Here it will just be me, uncut, unfiltered and unleashed.

My Promise To You…
In today’s world of political spin and paid off pundits it’s damn near impossible to find anyone who actually says what they truly believe, not what they are paid to believe. Rarely do you see a politician, journalist, or commentator speak truth to power or stand by their convictions in the face of adversity. Better yet, when was the last time you saw a leader today actually admit when they were wrong?

My pledge to you dear subscriber, is that here you will always get my honest truth. I will call it as I see it and say whatever is on my mind, just like I did all those years ago sitting ringside with Gorilla Monsoon. And if I change my mind or am proven wrong? I will be the first to admit it. I don’t lick my finger and hold it up to the winds of popularity or political opportunity, like Donald Trump or Joe Biden.

With the planet and humanity on the brink. With the War Hawks and Wall Street Barbarians at our gates. With the two party dictatorship that runs the U.S. government codifying the corporate greed of the Democrats and the Republican cult of oppression. I’ve spent my life running against these winds of fascism and hypocrisy.

And while others my age are moving to the beach and cashing Social Security checks, I’m not hanging up my spurs anytime soon. Not by a long shot. I’m a UDT/SEAL we die first, then quit.

Vladimir Putin Gave Jesse Ventura Creative Control Over Former Project - July 13, 2022

Jesse Ventura met Vladimir Putin years ago, and according to “The Body,” the Russian president gave him something any top wrestler would love to hear: creative control.

Ventura joined Chris Jericho on the latest episode of “Talk Is Jericho” to talk about politics in and outside the wrestling ring, but the show was heavily focused on Ventura’s political viewpoints and plans. Ventura has started up a new Substack due to his show, “The World According To Jesse,” on RT America, a Russian television branch, being pulled off all outlets due to the war in Ukraine. Jericho asked Ventura if that’s why his relationship with RT ended.

“Totally, and it was actually our sanctions that took me off the air, not Russia’s,” Ventura replied. “First of all, DirectTV and all the providers took us off, so we weren’t gonna be on the air. Second, the banks shut them out, so we couldn’t transfer money, because Russian money was no good in the bank. So the sanctions they put on destroyed RT America.” Ventura is uncertain as to whether his final episode ever aired, but he did take a moment in that episode to make a strong stance on the war.

“My last show, five minutes in, I stopped the show and I said, ‘I do not support this invasion, I want to state right now, I’m totally against it and I’m demanding the bloodshed stop now and the war end immediately,” Ventura said. “Now wouldn’t that have been a good message to get to the Russian people? And yet, my message couldn’t get there because our sanctions took me off the air. Kind of weird that our sanctions actually stopped me from chastising Russia from invading Ukraine.”

“The World According To Jesse” originally started back in 2017, with the intention to “tackle today’s biggest political stories, as well as deeper issues such as ‘government hypocrisy and corporate deception’ through a mix of thought-provoking interviews and on-the-ground reporting” and promised that Ventura would be “just as bold and uncensored in his approach as he has been all his life.” According to Ventura, that held true for the entirety of his time on the channel.

“I’ll admit this, I met Vladimir Putin before I signed,” Putin said. “They flew me and my wife to Russia for the 10-year anniversary of RT. Putin was the keynote speaker. I met [Mikhail] Gorbachev that night too. The Putin I met that night I’m having a hard time identifying today, because the Putin I met that night walked across the room to me, I didn’t go to him.

“He came to me, held his hand out, said ‘Thank you, Governor.’ Called me by my title. And he said, ‘I want to assure you, you have total creative control and there will never be any interference in your show.’ And I said, ‘Thank you, Mr. President.’ And Chris, I have to tell the truth. For four years, they never interfered in my show at all. He was a man of his word, so I can only judge him by my relationship with him, and I’m trying to figure out who this guy is today. What in the hell happened to him, because I got the feeling when I met him, he truly wanted to be our friend. That was the vibes I got from him, and you know me Chris, I’m not too far off with my vibes, but this guy, whoever Putin is now, either he worked me like hell, and working a wrestler is tough to do.”

Ventura has kept himself relatively removed from the pro wrestling scene, but he last made an appearance as the guest host of “WWE Raw” in 2009, where he reprised his classic commentary position with Vince McMahon.

Jesse "The Body" Ventura makes an interesting career move - June 8, 2017

WWE Hall Of Famer and former Governor of Minnesota Jesse "The Body" Ventura says that he's unable to find work after the defamation lawsuit against the estate of Chirs Kyle. Ventura says that he lost his health insurance with the Screen Actors Guild last year because he was not doing enough work in the industry.

This has forced him to work for Russian TV for his new show. Ventura says that his commentary show "The World According to Jesse" will not be censored by the Russian government and he has been assured as much by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I can't get a job in the U.S. No one will touch me," Ventura told the Associated Press. "My United States union throws me in the dirt and who comes to the rescue? Russia." As part of this deal, he has been provided health insurance. The shows will be filmed in Minnesota with the first show set to air within the next month or so. He said that he signed the deal last fall and it requires 32 shows. Ventura said that the show will offer his viewpoint on what is going on around the world and added, "I want to do it. But, in some ways I was forced to do it."

Ventura won the case against the Kyle estate in 2004 and was awarded $1.8 million over a fictitious story in Kyle's book where he claimed to have punched Ventura in a bar. The ruling was overturned in 2016 by the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Jesse Ventura on CNN - is he still considering Pres run - October 2013

Jesse Ventura Politics Wrestling United States

Former WWE wrestler/announcer Jesse Ventura says he is still considering running for U.S. president in 2016.

Ventura appeared on CNN's "Crossfire" show on Friday night to discuss this week's government shutdown. Asked at the end of his segment if he will run for president in 2016, Ventura said, "Maybe."

Ventura opposes the idea of a two-party government system of Republicans and Democrats, so he would run on an independent ticket. The 2016 Presidential race will be wide-open after President Obama finishes his second term, which Ventura believes is his opening to consider running for office.
