Giddy up, cowgirls and cowboys, get to Moonshine Saloon where the liquor flows, but beware there is a new Sheriff in town who don’t abide to Moonshine being drunk.
Moonshine Saloon is an immersive cocktail experience where you take along your favourite bottle of drink and the bartenders will then mix up cocktails for you from it, giving you a surprise every time.
For those that are into history you will no-doubt be familiar with the alcohol smuggling which took place at the beginning of the twentieth century. Bootleggers were running rife, and some individuals even became well known. Throughout your stay at Moonshine Saloon, you will come get to mingle with a variety of cowboys and cowgirls whom all have interesting stories to tell about their adventures. Rather than be an outsider looking in, you will be able to become part of the story.
I went along on a gifted basis with a group of friends from my community of influencers. We had a wild time, as we sipped on cocktails, tried to evade the Sheriff and watched as a brawl took place.
Moonshine Saloon
Moonshine Saloon originally opened up back in May 2018 in Kings Road but now resides at 28-30 Houndsditch, London EC3A 7DB.
Created by Inventive Productions (the same team as Alcotraz), Moonshine Saloon is Wild West bar set within London which allows you to experience the life of a cowboy/girl as you smuggle in drink, swig back cocktails and even get to watch a shoot our or two, just don’t let the Sheriff catch you drinking Moonshine otherwise you might become WANTED and get locked up.
Just drinking Moonshine, ignore me
Upon entering, you are given hats, jackets and bandannas to help you really feel the part.
You are then ushered into the saloon where character actors are placed to interact with you.
With your smuggled drinks mixologists will mix up some cocktails for you and your table throughout the night.
You will even get to play a few dice & card games with the local cowboy and cowgirls of the town but be alert as the Sheriff wanders around as he don’t like anyone who has smuggled in their own moonshine, so if you have just don’t get caught.
If you’re lucky enough you might get led to a secret location within the saloon where you will get a glimpse and taste of Moonshine Saloon illegal moonshine.
Throughout our time at Moonshine Saloon me and my table we got made on the night four drinks each. Without not knowing what drinks we were going to get made with our drink we smuggled in it was always good fun to receive them.
We got made throughout the night each a Strawberry Daiquiri, Mojito, Pina Colada and a Tequila cocktail. All the drinks looked amazing, powerful and tasted great. After two of our drinks we were nearly on the floor.
There is a running storyline in the saloon where quick scenes will be enacted throughout the night.
The resident cowboys, cowgirls and Sheriff stay in their characters throughout the night making the whole experience at Moonshine Saloon feel just like you have entered into a real Wild West Saloon. Each and everyone of them where great.

Verdict
When you are looking for a cocktail experience in London that will live long in your memory, the reality is that there are a number of establishments that will be vying for your attention. Cocktail bars are a dime-a-dozen, meaning that you are spoilt for choice.
That being said, once you have browsed through the above list, we hope that you will see that when it comes to immersive experiences which come equipped with master mixologists, few come close to Moonshine Saloon.
This is a truly unique cocktail experience, filled with old timey music, great costumes and delicious cocktails.
I’d imagine this venue would be particularly good for an office outing (it’s different and
engaging) or a birthday party, if you have a group of friends who love cocktails and something a bit different then just ‘meeting at the pub.’
