Motorola’s New Razr Brings Foldable Fun and a Lower Price Than Ever Before

Pre-orders start October 12, sales October 19

Motorola's razr is the callback folding phone that reminds many of us of flip phones of years past, and now it's less expensive to get one.

Motorola just made its retro-chic folding phone more affordable with the $699.99 razr 2023.

Based on the same design as the razr+, the new handset will be available for pre-order on October 12 in the US via Motorola's website and "select carriers and retailers." Sales begin October 19 at retail. There will be a limited-time discount of $100 off the launch price, too.

The new razr has Gorilla Glass and vegan leather on its outsides, with colors like Cherry Blossom, Sage Green, Vanilla Cream, and Summer Lilac. It stands on its own just like earlier razr phones, letting you set it up on a table, for example, to take selfies with the crew. Or do Zoom meetings, if you have to.

Motorola promises the highest resolution sensors of any of its foldable phones for both front and rear cameras. There's a 64 MP primary camera and a 13 MP Ultrawide lens on the back, along with a 32 MP front camera for the aforementioned video calls and photos.

The new razr has a big ole 6.9 pOLED screen when unfolded with up to 144Hz refresh for smooth animations and scrolling. It's also got a Dolby Atmos-powered sound system with built-in stereo speakers. Moto's Spatial Sound rounds out the audio, too, to help you immerse yourself in the music, game, or movie you're watching.

To power all this, Motorola says the new razr 2023 has a 4200 mAh battery and a fast 30W charging system, both wired and wireless. For comparison, the new iPhone 15 Pro Max sports a 4,422mAh battery.
