Airtime Rewards – Earn passive cashback via app (plus promo code)
Fancy earning cashback with no effort needed? I’ve earned over £100 just from having Airtime Rewards installed on my phone. Here’s how it works:
Link your cards to this one app, and every time you spend money in one of its retailers – you get cashback. Doesn’t matter how much you spend, and you don’t need to click any buttons before you buy.
That means you’ll get between 1-10% back every time you spend at Boots, Waitrose, Primark, Debenhams, Pizza Express, Papa John’s, Wilko and many more.
The cashback you earn can’t be withdrawn as cash, but instead it’s linked to your phone contract/pay as you go sim.
Once you’ve banked enough cash to withdraw (usually £5 or £10), you can redeem it, and it’ll come off your bill for the month, or be added to your credit.
The app is called Airtime Rewards, and it’s one of my favourites. Here’s an overview of to get started on it:
Download Airtime Rewards and register
Airtime Rewards is available on iOS and Andriod. Once downloaded, fill out a few details to create your account. If you wanted a bonus, you can get 50p for free for using my promo code TEMMNEV4 (and you’ll also get a £1 bonus if you spend in the first 7 days).

Link your cards & start shopping
Any cards that you would shop with, make sure to add to your account. Airtime Rewards can be linked to Visa and Mastercards (but not AMEX), and you can add as many cards as you like.
Once they are linked, it will track all of your spending on those cards, and if you shop at a retailer on Airtime Rewards, you will get cashback. The rate of cashback varies per retailer, but the average is around 4-5%.
There is no maximum amount of cashback you can earn on an order too, so spending £500 at Argos for example will net you £25 cashback (as you get 5% back).
There is usually around 35 days from the time you shop until the time the cashback is payable, so it’s not going to be a quick way to make some money – but it should passively work when you’re not even thinking about it.
Once you have hit the minimum threshold (which varies by network provider), you can redeem your money under the ‘rewards’ tab in the app.
Get £1.50 Free With Airtime Rewards Promo Code
For signing up and entering an Airtime Rewards promo code, you get 50p for free, and then an extra £1 bonus if you spend within the first 7 days of having the app.
You can enter my Airtime Rewards referral code which is TEMMNEV4 to get £1.50 free if you don’t have one.
As said above, you need to spend from one of its retailers in the first 7 days to get the extra £1 bonus… but there is no minimum spend on this to unlock it.
This means, to unlock the extra £1 (even if you weren’t going to spend), you can pop into Boots and get a chocolate bar for 50p… and you’ll still get the bonus issued to you. A great way to earn a little extra cash!
It’s important to note that you can share your referral code with as many friends as you want to get the app and start saving. With each one that you get to sign up, you earn 50p, and so do they.
If you use a promo or referral code to sign up (TEMMNEV4) , and manage to find 9 friends, you’ve made your first £5!
You can earn a lot of extra cash from referring your friends. See my refer a friend blog for how to make £100s.
How To Stack Cashback
The thing that I love about this app, is that you can stack it with other cashback. If you’re signed up to either TopCashback or Quidco, and a retailer is on Airtime Rewards as well, you use both.
(If you want to know more about TopCashback – see my TopCashback Guide).
To stack the cashback – click through the cashback website online and pay on one of your linked cards. This will mean you can get double the cashback from 2 different places.
Here is some of the stacking you can do right now:
- Topman – up to 11.6% cashback (6.6% on TopCashback, 5% on Airtime Rewards)
- Debenhams – 9% cashback (5% on TopCashback, 4% on Airtime Rewards)
- Boots – 8.3% cashback (3.3% on TopCashback, 5% on Airtime Rewards)
- Halfords – 10.4% cashback (5.4% on TopCashback, 5% on Airtime Rewards)
That’s a lowdown for you on how Airtime Rewards works (and how to use it to your advantage). I hope you end up saving some money with it.
Since signing up my mother and my partner, we have accumulated £40 between us all in a short time – which we wouldn’t have got otherwise.

I guess it’s even possible to ‘treble-stack’ the cashback.
Although I’ve only started to use Airtime Rewards in the last 6 weeks or so, I’ve been doubling up with my Santander debit card which often gives 5% at Boots (amongst others) in it’s own Retailer Offers (I know there are several banks which do the same). I’ve received (confirmed) cashback from both my bank and Airtime Rewards in the case of Boots & Waitrose. If you’re a student who already receives 10% off at Boots at the till – you may even consider this a trebling up already.
I haven’t shopped online yet for the retailers Airtime Rewards uses but I’ll see if indeed it can be trebled up.

This would be a great post to pin! Pity the images aren’t pinnable ones.
Anyway, I’ve been hearing about airtime rewards and still don’t have it yet. I will get the app and set it up as soon as I’m done here. Thanks for your savvy tips and tricks.

Brilliant money saving tip thanks Jordan. Also thanks to previous commentators above for the extra pointers. My daughter is a student and always getting caught cash wise when her phone bill is due. This may well help her reduce the bill! 🐱
