Soft Tissue Skills
This refers to “Hands on” techniques directly affecting muscles, ligaments and tendons – “soft tissues”. Unfortunately the profession is not currently statutorily regulated – meaning anyone can call themselves a sports therapist. Here we make sure everyone is qualified (for the techniques and skills offered) and insured and self-regulate. There are organisations you can join and adhere to their standards to give the public confidence and peace of mind. Mike currently works with the Sports Therapy Organisation (STO).

At Watford Injury Studio, we are trained in “Problem finding” and providing the appropriate interventions. A “routine” alone will rarely fix an on going, Chronic issue and multiple modalities may be required, such as an in depth assessment, followed by the relevant manual techniques – then corrective exercises.
We work with “everyday” people and athletes alike. Every session is tailored to the individual.

The service we provide are designed to go to the source of the issue, and not just the symptoms. Although sometimes more than 1 session is required, you will be given the tools and education to manage to injury / tightness / weakness / posture yourself – so you wont solely be reliant on getting treatment sessions

We thoroughly evaluate & treat all of the contributing root factors related to your issue. This includes, but is not limited to, your work and home stressors, overall body condition, strength, range of movement & postural habits, and patterns that are held in your muscles.
