@xynynoth Is already a premium service, actually. Should be free only for a month to vivaldi registered user accounts and will likely land in next stable (still must be enabled and linked if wanted).

I wonder about users who complain not getting a gift immediately. Webmail account is a gift 🎁 from Vivaldi company, not a paid service they can complain on like customers when not delivered.

Be extra-active in every aspect of your community presence. I've seen it take up to a month to gain access, and I've seen it take 3 days. It depends on how much you do of what (sync, blog, social.vivaldi.net, forums, contributing themes). There is not another way to do it.

THX for your hint. I read it right now. Besides, I never questioned the reputation system, my request referred to something else. It was a misunderstanding which is solved.

BTW, I appreciate the reputation system, especially the rules for gaining reputation points. It's clear that this has to stay secret, otherwise it could be circumvented. It's also clear it doesn't suit everyone.

Since I am meanwhile 1 year a member I figured having enough reputation to be able to use the Vivaldi webmail. I tried it and it works. Nice, I am happy. 🙂

As long as you remain an active participant, you should eventually gain a reputation level high enough that will grant the webmail privilege.

You can periodically check by going to this page after logging in. If you see the link to Webmail, then you have access.

A bug report relating to this (CW-1933), has been acknowledged.

@pafflick I have since corrected the wrong numbers manually. I actually deleted all the contacts in Webmail and re-imported them, but in the end all I could do was correct them manually.

I noticed that all newer contacts are displayed correctly, and only older contacts are not. Everything remains somewhat speculative, but it is worth mentioning that these older contacts were both created or synchronized with older smartphones. Secondly, they were already on another server that was not based on CARDDAV, but on MS Xchange, and thirdly, some contacts had already been created on a Windows computer. This means that there is at least the possibility that the transfer from a Windows system to a Linux / Android system led to errors.

However, everything has now been corrected manually, new phone numbers are transferred correctly and in this respect there is no bug with Vivaldi / Roundcube. At most a missing correction instance like the smartphone apparently has.

Per comumunity managers:

From 4 May 2023, verifying your identity via a code sent to your phone will be replaced by a reputation system that grants access to Vivaldi Webmail only to users who actively take part in the community. This means that new users will not be able to use Vivaldi Webmail immediately after creating the account. They’ll have to participate in Forum discussions, interact with others on Vivaldi Social, share their browser themes, post on their blog and/or sync their browser data to collect “points”.

@arcmosh five days to a week. They first send you five daily emails. By then I should have gotten some reputation. Then when you log in, there will suddenly be a link to the email or just try going to webmail.vivaldi.net and see if it will let you sign in. It never actually alerted me that I had the webmail at all, I just saw the link at the bottom of the dashboard page.

Vivaldi does not do this.

Vivaldi does promote their cool email client, which is not a webmail service. Some message boards and publications do mention Vivaldi's webmail service, and Vivaldi can't stop that.

And if it were public knowledge how much reputation is required and how to acquire it, the scammers would have a foot in the door and the ability to automate obtaining webmail access.

I'm sorry you're disappointed, but hopefully you will hang around and participate for a while and next thing you know, you will be invited to Webmail. Think of it as, not a right, but rather an "insider perk."

When I installed sparkmail or other third party software mail, It became unstable like your experience. (I have disroot.org Webmail and vivaldi Webmail.) Note...I utilize iphone 12. I do not install third party software mail on my Windows.
