and are used to the trappings of royal travel abroad, embarking on a number of engagements at home and internationally all year round.

Ever since they married in 2011 and became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge they have been tasked with representing the British Royal Family across the world.

Some of their most memorable royal tours include Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand and the Caribbean - with more sure to be in the works.

For such long-haul trips it is necessary for the royals to go through Heathrow Airport, however their experience is quite different to the ordinary traveller as they can use the luxury Windsor Suite at the airport.

Here Express.co.uk takes a look inside the £3.3k per flight suite at the country's busiest airport.

Once they go through security at Heathrow the couple, and the rest of the royals, are whisked off to the VIP Windsor Suite, where they can enjoy unlimited Champagne and Michelin-star cuisine.

Renowned chef Jason Atherton is in charge of the menu at the Windsor Suite, which is served to the Firm by a personal butler.

Mr Atherton favours "light and seasonal" British produce used to create dishes such as BBQ pulled chicken with celeriac slaw, spiced sea bream with warm chickpea and samphire salad, sumptuous pastries and chocolate fondue.

One post from their Instagram page features a rather appropriate Wimbledon-themed dessert, a white chocolate 'tennis ball' dusted in green, with mixed berries, cream, crushed meringue and raspberry sorbet inside.

Priya Malhotra, head of Heathrow VIP, previously told Business Insider: "You can order from the menu as much as you want.

"You can even order the entire menu and drink me out of Dom [Perignon Champagne] - please do so, but I might be grumpy."

When the royals do fly commercial their airline of choice is British Airways, with first class passengers also treated to exquisite meals when onboard.

Previous delicacies on the seasonal menu have included oak-smoked Gressingham duck, Italian burrata with summer truffle and lobster tortellini with clam and sweetcorn chowder.

Although Kate and William often travel as a duo, they have occasionally brought their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte along on trips to countries such as Germany and Poland.

However, Prince Louis is yet to join his siblings on a royal tour, partly due to the pandemic making international travel almost impossible, and now all three are at school they are unlikely to travel during term-time.
