Applications Are Now Open for Our Artists in Residence 2024 Programme

Join the creative team of a theatre production at an ETC member theatre as assistant director or assistant dramaturge. Deadline: 29 October

The applications to our Artists in Residence 2024 programme are now open!

🎭We are looking for emerging theatre artists (particularly stage directors and dramaturges) to join us in the seventh edition of this enriching programme.

The selected artists will join the creative team of a theatre production process, thus gaining insights into new working methods and discovering the daily routine and structures of a European public theatre. The ETC Artists in Residence Programme is a scholarship that supports international cooperation, fosters new perspectives and professional artistic experience. It does not offer a paid position in the participating theatres.

You will have the chance to get one of the six residency placements of 4 to 8 weeks in one of our Member Theatres:

  • Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana (Portugal): 20 May 2024 - 30 June 2024
  • Göteborgs Stadsteater / Backa Teater (Sweden): 15 January 2024 - 15 March 2024
  • Slovak National Drama Theatre (Slovakia): 13 February 2024 – 7 April 2024
  • Deutsches Theater Berlin (Germany): Dates can be decided later in arrangement with the scholars
  • Slovensko Narodno Gledališče Nova Gorica (Slovenia): 1 February 2024 – 12 April 2024
  • National Theatre Kosovo (Kosovo): 30 January 2024 – 31 May 2024

During the application, you will be asked to select the two placements that would interest you the most.
