Former One Direction singer Liam Payne has reportedly been banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding at 43mph in a 30mph zone. 

An automatic camera captured him as he was speeding in his £35,000 Ford Ranger in west London

His case was heard at Lavender Hill Magistrates on October 9 and he has been fined £293 and stripped of his licence due to 'repeat offending', The Sun reports.

He is believed to have been in his black Ford Ranger Wildtrak Deranged Edition at the time of the incident.

Liam was heading eastbound on the A40 on February 24 when the incident occurred, court documents obtained by The Evening Standard previously revealed. 

Writing to Lavender Hill magistrates court, Payne earlier said: 'I did not realise the speed limit and apologise for speeding,' and agreed to pay any fine imposed within 14 days.

The popstar is known for having a huge collection of sports cars, including a £270,000 Lamborghini Aventador and a £145,000 Cadillac Escalade.

Insiders report that the star was celebrating his one-year ­anniversary with Kate when he fell ill at their holiday property and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Liam was seen for the first time earlier this month since the hospitalisation as he made several public appearances during Paris Fashion Week. 

Updating fans on the singer's health, Kate said at the time: 'He's feeling a lot better. He's in good hands. He's out of the hospital.'
