The new Goosebumps TV show is now on Disney+ and Hulu. The retelling of R.L. Stine's spooky series follows five teenagers as they investigate a tragic death from 30 years ago. This new iteration will have longtime fans wanting to re-read their favorites and new viewers heading to the bookstore or library. But where should you start? The author has a downloadable checklist on his website so you can log your reading. But with 62 books in the original 1992-1997 series, plus dozens of others in Goosebumps Series 2000, Give Yourself Goosebumps, HorrorLand, and SlappyWorld, it can be overwhelming. The books stand alone, so you can read them in any order.

The new TV show is based on Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms!, and Night of the Living Dummy. So those are a great place to start. To help you in your Goosebumps reading journey, we scoured Goodreads in search of the top-rated Goosebumps books. These 10 novels got the highest marks from thousands of reviewers. Now, there's nothing left to do but get reading!
