Manifesto Invencionista

Manifesto Invencionista was a 1946 published manifesto which announced the Argentinian beginning of the concrete art movement in Buenos Aires. Artist Tomás Maldonado wrote the Inventionist Manifesto; published by the Asociación Arte Concreto-Invención. Concrete art is abstract, with no basis on visual reality.

Funk Art

In the 1960s, Fun Art was a reactive movement against abstract exressionism. It was widely known as an anti-establishment movement, the name comes from the jazz term "funky". This had positive and negative notations as the term in the jazz world, described passion, quirkyness, and sensuality, while it could also be associated with a foul odor. Funk was popular in California Bay Area, and while the artists of the Funk Art era had similar attitudes and artwork, they did not consider themselves as a part of a group movement.

Postmodernism

Postmodernism is artwork which sought to make visual statements against authority, to remove boundaries between art and everyday life, and to bridge gaps between the cultural elite and popular masses. Art in this movement embraces many earlier conventions and styles in eclectic mixtures.
