If you were looking for cottages like Raffer Yem, how about trying these:

Enjoy an off-grid escape in this bespoke, hand-crafted, solar-powered eco cabin. The copper leaf interior wall adds a touch of luxury, while the skylight lets you stargaze from the comfortable bed. Unwind on the raised sofa snug in front of the wood-burner, or relax on the west-facing deck, drinking in the countryside views, set in 200 acres of private land. Within the cabin are the sleeping area, a seating area, a bijou kitchen and fantastic shower-room featuring cedar panelling, hot shower and incinerating toilet. While outside the deck opens straight onto the fields giving total privacy, the perfect place to relax while toasting marshmallows in the fire-pit and enjoying a glass of wine. Your four-legged friend can curl up at your feet and snooze in peace.

From the field at the rear, step up onto your own decking, with rustic chairs, a fire-pit and a small table and two chairs, a great place to enjoy an outdoor meal, or just sip a hot chocolate in the cool of the evening. Inside the cabin you are met with a comfy banquette seat for two next to the raised king-size bed. Fall asleep watching the stars come out above your cosy bed through the thoughtfully placed skylight. The hand-built kitchen area, with real wood worktop, a gas two ring hob and an upcycled tin sink has free flowing cold water and a cute little shelf. The wood-burner is wonderful for keeping the cabin warm in the cooler weather. The quirky shower-room has an incinerating toilet, an upcycled zinc wash-basin and copper pipes fashioned into a shower with hot and cold water. Relish the shower with the water flowing down the cedar shingle walls.

The cabin has been carefully thought out by the owner using many upcycled materials including reclaimed wood and metal. The electricity is from the solar panels which covers some lighting and the phone chargers. Being so aware of the carbon footprint of the cabin the owner has provided a cool box for your use, with ice packs to use from the communal freezer in the open barn. There is no WiFi ,TV or plug sockets - USB ports are available for charging devices.

The west-facing outdoor decking offers magnificent views west over the rolling fields, breakfast at the outdoor table and welcome a new day to the sound of birdsong.
