Indigenous Programs
CKBC acknowledges that we operate on the traditional and unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh people.
Indigenous Performance Programming
Two main competition opportunities exist in the BC Summer Games and the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).
The North American Indigenous Games is a multi-sport event and cultural celebration involving Indigenous youth between the ages of 13-19 from across North America staged intermittently since 1990. NAIG help us realize the collective potential of our bodies, minds, spirit and of our people - our hopes and dreams - The Spirit Strong, Brave & True.
The vision of NAIG is to improve the quality of life for Indigenous Peoples by supporting self-determined sports and cultural activities which encourage equal access to participation in the social / cultural / spiritual fabric of the community in which they reside and which respects Indigenous distinctiveness.
Indigenous Community & School Programming
CKBC offers introductory and participation paddling programs through communities and schools. Programs can be customized to fit most time frames and locations across British Columbia.
