Hierdie week het Plaas TV weereens vir interessante kykstof gesorg en vandag is #kykweervrydag. Hier is ’n opsomming van dié week se episodes:
- As dit by teling kom, moet ons nie probeer om dit wat die natuur vir ons gee, te verander nie. Dit is waarna inheemse veldboktelers in Suid-Afrika streef, om hierdie ras in sy oorspronklike vorm te bewaar. Plaas TV het onlangs by Gerhard Lourens gaan kuier om meer van hierdie unieke ras te leer.
- Do not spoil, transform or improve them out of existance, is die teelbeleid van die Inheemse Veldboktelersgenootskap. Kyk hier na ‘n gesprek met Gerhard Lourens oor dié eg Suid-Afrikaanse ras, en sy genootskap.
- The LRF Stockman School is around the corner and organisers have a special offer for students to attend this event. Johan Styger elaborates on this.
- Die LRF Veeskool is om die draai en die organiseerders het dit ook nou moontlik gemaak vir studente om hierdie geleentheid by te woon. Johan Styger brei hieroor uit.
- Nampo Kaap 2023 was ’n reuse-sukses en spog met ’n bywoningsyfer van meer as 35 000, ’n nuwe rekord wat 3 000 meer is as verlede jaar se rekordbywoning. Die geleentheid is vanjaar van 13 tot 16 September in Bredasdorp gehou. Altesaam 520 maatskappye het hul produkte en dienste op 650 standplase uitgestal en die Plaas TV-span was óók hier. - Tractor and harvester sales have been showing some interesting developments during the past few months. Dr Jim Rankin of the South African Agricultural Machinery Association gives some perspective on this as well as some feedback on the second hand market.
- The Kubota tractor is easy to operate, handle and maintain and has a wide range of implements that can be used to get the job done, no matter the farm application. The Plaas TV team met up with Kubota at Nampo Cape to discuss the Kubota sprayer range that was recently launched in South Africa.
- Dr Carmen Muller van die Universiteit van Pretoria kuier in die Plaas TV-ateljee. Sy brei uit oor ‘n uitvoerbaarheidstudie van ‘n nuwe waardeketting vir laergraad-aartappels in die landbouverwerkingsbedryf.
